St. Joseph's R.C. Primary School
Our School

About Our School:

St. Joseph's School is a Roman Catholic School in the centre of Derby with approximately 350 pupils. It has proud tradition stretching back over a century and holds an important place in the local community.

St. Joseph's R.C. School is a primary school for boys and girls between the ages of four and a half and eleven years. It was built by and is controlled by the Board of Governors.

The status of the school is Voluntary Aided. This means that the school was provided by the Church and then handed over to the Local Education Authority so that the Authority now maintains the school internally, pays for all the equipment and also pays staff salaries. The governors maintain the exterior of the buildings and make all appointments to the staff. The school is part of the State system of education so all children attend free of charge.
